Each individual who was saved had a huge ceremony, beyond any earthly wedding! That includes you and me! and now we are just in that time period between the ceremony and the banquet :D i'm so excited to be up there soon!

The wedding was such a joyous moment! Yet compared to the marriage with God, it's trivial... that blows my mind!

Persecution

"Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived." - 2 Timothy 3:12-13

Take a look at the words I bolded. The word desire implicates that not only those who are living a godly life in Christ Jesus, but those who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus. This leads to the implication: will be persecuted. I have learned that semantics in scripture are very significant as I continue to, slowly but surely, learn the biblical Greek (which we have always been told, but until you study it for yourself, you won't discover how deep this truth is).

There is no if about this statement, but rather, we are promised that as followers of Jesus Christ, we will be persecuted. A conterfeit Christian will not be persecuted his whole life because Satan himself uses complacency and comfort in the lives of Christians to keep them away from God, and although they go to church every Sunday, tithe, and follow all the traditions and "religion" of Christianity, they haven't given their Lordship over to him. In the book of Revlations (3:14-22), these people are refered to as lukewarm. Jesus' use of words in this passage describes a non-believer (blind, poor, wretched, pitiful, etc.), and Jesus makes it very clear that he will spit these people out of his mouth because they have so much more chance of coming to Christ if they were cold than lukewarm.

Jesus is very clear in Matthew 16:24-27 about denying yourself and replacing all your wills and desires for his. He also states in John 15 that anyone who does not bear fruit will be gathered and thrown into the fire! This is something to deeply pray about.

It is a blessing to be persecuted. Read John 15; another instance where Jesus tells us that we will be persecuted. Persecution affirms your faith, especially if you die for the sake of the gospel (Matthew 24:27). So many American Christians are not persecuted because they won't speak up about Jesus. I can go on for hours with scripture and preaching, but rather, I want to conclude by quoting two of my favorite pastors: Francis Chan and John MacArthur.

To put this first quote in context, it refers to the more-than 50,000 who are in hiding this very moment in Orissa, India, and all those there who have been martyred, dismembered, burned alive, and have had their homes and churches burnt down.

"They don't have to suffer persecution either (refering to American Christians) if they would just shut up about Jesus" - Francis Chan

"If persecution came to America, we'd see a very different kind of Christianity" - John MacArthur

Do you speak up for Jesus Christ?
Loving those who actually need it

http://miniature-earth.com/
Then check this out!
If more than 3 billion people in the world live off less than $2USD a day, then even the poorest of us "Americans" can't claim we're poor. It breaks my heart that as I wonder what will happen in the future of my life, these people wonder if they will even make it to the end of the day alive. I'm gonna do what I can and give up my luxuries for their sake. I can't help but just have compassion for all these. I'm gonna connect with Children's Hunger Fund (because they are the best and 99.4% of everything they receive goes straight to the aiding them). I'm going to strive to give 50% of what I thought was my oh-so-dear "engineering salary." Loving your neighbor as yourself does not mean to just be convicted or feel bad for them. It means doing something. I'm not going to just talk about being Christian, that so many of us do, but show my Christianity, which so many of us lack.
http://juststopandthink.com/movieextras.php

Book Log

This is just my personal log of books I've gone through, am going through, and plan to go through.

Week of 3/24/2008:
• Every Man's Battle - Arterburn & Stoker
• The Great Divorce - C.S. I just wanted you to know I pray that God would prepare you and me for the day we meet, that we would be so in love with Him that we would settle for nothing less than extraordinary.

I pray that you would become a Godly woman, a woman that would be held in high regard, a woman that many others would partake as their role model, a woman who speaks with the utmost wisdom, who seeks it continuously. I ask God that you would be the one of Proverbs 31:10-31, a noble woman.

I pray that I would desire to make the purpose of my life to worship God and to live for the benefit of you. I desire to find you, to meet you and know you, that I would be the one to love you forever, as the church is so dearly loved by God, because the church is Christ's bride.

I pray that we will both patiently wait for each other, so it would be that more special: the first time that I would hold your hand, the first time I would look into your eyes, the first time i would brush the back of my hand across your cheek...

I pray for you everyday with my whole heart, I just wanted you to know.

Sincerely Yours,
Everest Liu

Work and Relationships

So i've worked for a week now, and it's great and everything, but it seems that if this is now my life, everyday... wow, i gotta keep myself from becoming complacent. Thx for all those of u who prayed for me, those in korea and the many hundred ppl here in the US, it's great to have family like you, i am so blessed.

Now i can see why my parents were pushing me to date in college, cuz when you start working, you barely have enough free time for yourself... and i don't even know what it would be like to be in a relationship now... now i see why God planned the last girl i asked out to end up being my friend instead, he was prepping me for now, which i'm totally fine with, cuz at least i have no obligation to call her everyday or every other day, we can just talk freely whenever, and that's great!

my cousin said i should go to his church and meet one of the hundred or so whatever cute single girls there, haha... funny guy he is... i think i gotta concentrate on work for at least a few weeks first and get into the swing of things before i think about the relationships part...

i've been writing quite a bit of music lately, good stuff... i miss playing in a band... and seeing my friends everyday... and it'd be nice to perform at an art & wine festival again (=

Cars ;)

So for the last 4 months, i've been thinking about which car to get for a first car. Most of you know, my first choice was the Saturn Sky Redline, a nice turbocharged roadster. It was my top choice for awhile:

then i looked at so many cars it's crazy, some out-of-budget-range cars i really really wanted included the audi r8 and the mercedes mclaren SLR

of course these are extremely expensive and would be 2 yrs of income untaxed... so i scrapped that idea... wait hold on tho! because this is the car i want above all others:

now i've been convinced by a former student's father to go BMW, so i checked out the bmw site, and low and behold, the new BMW 135i comes out next year! i want i want! that was pretty much my final decision, but it doesn't come out till spring... but gah! that thing is crazy sexy! 6inline 300HP, 300lb/sqin, twin turbo, and power comes in at a very low rpm, no turbo lag... i'm in love... IN LOVE!!!

but what to do till it comes out?! i've decided that i think i want to buy a certified pre-owned BMW M3, drive it for a couple of years, then when the BMW 135i is cheaper and the bugs are worked out, then i'll sell the M3 and buy a 135i, unless the M1 comes out... mind you that the 1 series is much lighter than the 3 series, thus the power ratio is beautiful!, i'm not sure what year M3 yet, depends on many things, so I'll put up a picture of the M3 that i CAN'T afford:

ENJOY! (= I will drive that sexy beast one day (=
